My Social Publisher ("the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register
  • Social media tokens: OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens for your connected platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), stored encrypted using AES-256-GCM
  • Social media profile data: Account names, profile pictures, and account identifiers from connected platforms
  • Content: Posts, images, and videos you upload for publishing
  • Usage data: Actions performed within the Service (logged for auditing and troubleshooting)

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

  • Authenticate you and manage your account
  • Publish content to your connected social media platforms on your behalf
  • Schedule posts for future publishing
  • Display your connected accounts and publishing history
  • Send account-related notifications (approval, etc.)

4. Data Storage and Security

This is a self-hosted application. All data is stored on infrastructure controlled by the site operator:

  • Database: PostgreSQL with encrypted OAuth tokens (AES-256-GCM)
  • Media storage: MinIO (S3-compatible), self-hosted
  • Passwords: Hashed with bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • Transport: All traffic encrypted via HTTPS/TLS

5. Third-Party Services

When you connect your social media accounts, we interact with third-party APIs:

  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram): To publish posts, photos, and videos to your Pages and accounts
  • TikTok: To publish videos and photos to your account
  • Google (YouTube): To upload videos to your channel

Each platform has its own privacy policy that governs their handling of your data. We only send the minimum data required for publishing (content, captions, media files).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as necessary to provide the Service (i.e., publishing content to your connected platforms at your request).

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Uploaded media files are stored until the associated post is deleted or you request removal. You may disconnect social media accounts at any time, which removes stored tokens for that account.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Disconnect any connected social media account at any time
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Update your account information through the Settings page

9. Cookies

The Service uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
